This is Erik Aldrey's debut solo project. With a broad multicultural background and a long life on the road working the music scene from every possible angle, it was time for this talented musician, producer and audio engineer to bring his inspirational beats into an amazing compilation with a sophisticated electronic treatment.

 

The sound of Le Picó is well expressed on its 12 tracks as a mixture of styles and genres. From the most exquisite Chill Out to Disco and Deep Houses. Brazilian, Dance and Broken Beats. The album features collaborations on vocals by Karla Bahia (Rie) and Darren Cumberbatch (Open Your Eyes), and other artists collaborating such as Julio Briceño and Armando Figueredo from funky Venezuelan band Los Amigos Invisibles, among others.

 

The album also contains "A Vida Rara" included on the compilation "Dance Venezuela" (Gozadera Records), "All Around" featured on the "Chill Out Venezuela" compilation by Gozadera Records; and "Supernova" as featured on "Touch Tone Music Compilation Vol.2", released by Tummy Touch Records.

 

About Erik

Son of Gustavo Aldrey, well-known Venezuelan musician, he started playing guitar at 12. In 1991 he began audio engineering studies and now has more than 16 years of experience as a studio and live engineer having completed more than 2000 shows worldwide. Having lived in Caracas, Madrid and New York, he relocated to London in 2002. Erik recently finished touring with Tom Vek where he also ended up playing guitar.

 

Erik's live sound credits include: Glastonbury, Metropolitan festival, Roskilde, Winter Music Convention, Central Park Summer Stage, Watcha Tour and Session At 54th West. Also, working with bands such as: Los Amigos Invisibles, Tom Vek, Superthrillers, Little Louie Vega and his Elements of Life, Vanlustbäder, Repairman, La Muy Bestia Pop, Franco de Vita and Ricardo Montaner.

 

In the studio he has worked with Los Amigos Invisibles, Vanlustbäder, Morton Valence, The Cuban Brothers, Fundación Tony Manero, Mujaji, Fauna, Gled Hill, The Paddingtons, Lekan Babalola, Kubb, Duran Duran, Ladytron, and Stereophonics.

 

Also worked with producers / engineers including: Jeremy Weathley, Owen Morris (Oasis), Jim Abbiss (Bjork, Artic Monkeys), Jim Lowe, Paul Wright, Nikk Faber, Dave Bascombe (Tears For Fears, Depeche Mode), and Barny (Placebo, Artic Monkeys).

 

Erik's is part of Black Beans Music, a creative production joint where the main goal is to produce, create, distribute and promote music around the world, no fix spaces, no boundaries, music from everywhere to everyone.
